This version of Shakespeare’s Hamlet takes place in present day within the Guggenheim Museum in New York. The main character is the janitor that works in the museum. He comes on stage as a normal janitor sweeping the floor. And after reciting a few lines from the play, Hamlet, his imagination comes to life, and with it, the paintings and sculptures in the museum. He becomes Hamlet and the subjects from the different works of art come to life and assume the roles of the different characters in the play. The play drifts in and out of a fantasy world and reality.
